How it works

Two stages. One journey from your classroom to the New England stage.

Every team starts at their school. The finalists earn a place at the NEIA Championship weekend.

Stage 1

Train and Compete at Your School

NEIA entrepreneurship educators visit your school or deliver an approved training experience. Students receive one or two days of hands-on entrepreneurship training, then form teams of up to three and compete in a school-level pitch competition. Each school selects its top three teams to advance.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Opportunity identification
  • Customer discovery
  • Creative problem-solving
  • Business-model development
  • Prototyping
  • MVP development
  • Storytelling
  • Pitching

Stage 2

The Championship at NEIA

The top three teams from each school travel to the NEIA campus in Marlborough for a 56-hour entrepreneurship boot camp and final competition. Teams receive a live innovation prompt, build an MVP, develop a business model, and pitch to judges on Sunday.

  • Understand a real-world problem
  • Conduct rapid research
  • Identify users and customers
  • Generate & select ideas
  • Build an MVP or prototype
  • Develop a business model
  • Test and iterate
  • Prepare & deliver the final pitch
